HourKeep has no servers. Everything the app knows about your work lives on your iPhone, and this page describes exactly what that means.
Your data stays on your device
Your jobs, shifts, breaks, notes, rates and settings are stored in the app's local database on your iPhone. There is no account, no sync of ours, and no code path that uploads this data anywhere. Deleting the app deletes the data.
Widgets and the Lock Screen
The widgets and the Live Activity read a small snapshot of the running shift and this week's totals from a shared container on the same device. It never leaves the phone.
Exports
CSV, PDF and JSON exports are created on your device. They go only where you send them with the iOS share sheet; we never see them. A copy is kept in a temporary folder so you can share it, and that folder is cleared when you next open the app or delete all data.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to tell the app whether a subscription is active. For this, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated on your device and the receipt information Apple provides — not your name, your email or any of your work data.
Notifications
The “forgot to end your shift” nudge, the workday start reminder and the weekly summary are local notifications scheduled on your device. They involve no server and can be turned off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.
Analytics and tracking
HourKeep contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no tracking. We see only the aggregate, anonymised statistics Apple provides to all developers through App Store Connect.
Children
HourKeep is intended for people old enough to work and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no personal data and has no accounts, no personal information is collected from anyone.
Your rights
Because nothing is stored outside your device, exercising your data rights is direct: edit or delete a shift in the app, use “Delete all data”, or delete the app to erase everything. If you have any question about your data, write to us and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of HourKeep changes what is stored or where, we will update this page and state the new date above.
